We know she will lead Parson Hills with the same dedication and love she has shown at Walker. Mrs. Schwieso was also honored as Walker’s Teacher of the Year! Our kindergartners had a special field trip opportunity to visit the local Springdale Fire Station! This exciting experience helped bring to life the kindergarten academic standard C.1.K.7: Learn ways that people improve communities. Firefighters help our community by keeping us safe, responding to emergencies, teaching us about fire safety, and being everyday heroes! We’re so grateful for the chance to learn from them and see how they serve and protect our neighborhoods. A big Wildcat shout-out to Mrs. Davis, Mrs. Fair, and Mrs. Norton for representing Walker Elementary as they worked alongside other Springdale staff on district alignment in mathematics! We had a very special STEAM Team meeting this morning at Walker Elementary! One student from each classroom was invited to join, and their voices made the meeting truly powerful. We reflected on the glows and grows from last week’s STEAM event, shared our favorite Wonder Lab experiences, reviewed the 4Cs and the Engineering Design Process, and discussed what’s ahead for the remaining STEAM stations this school year. It was such a meaningful opportunity for student agency—our Wildcats are thinking deeply about their learning, and their curiosity is contagious! Staff left the meeting feeling so inspired by our students’ insights and wonderings. Walker Elementary really is a great place to be! #SpringdaleFamily

One way we are encouraging our students to learn in creative ways is by activating our hallways! We’re incorporating science phenomena, interactive games, and collaborative learning experiences throughout our school.
